A Look at the Neograft Hair Transplant

    Last updated 6 months ago

The cure for baldness: the holy grail of modern medicine.  We’re not quite there yet, but Neograft technology is leading the pack by automating Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).  Here’s a breakdown of the benefits of undergoing the patented FUE procedure:

    Advanced Technology

Neograft is the most advanced form of FUE.  It’s an improvement upon manual methods that require countless hours and incisions from the surgeon.  In fact, manual FUE is such a meticulous process that many doctors don’t take the time to master the procedure, instead relying upon the older more invasive strip harvesting of hair follicles. The Neograft machine is a state-of-the-art device that automates this process.  It allows the doctor to work quicker and with more precision, since the ergonomic design of the apparatus acts as an extension of the doctor’s hand.

    Safer Procedure

A Neograft hair transplant is minimally invasive, meaning there is no sedation, cutting, or suturing.  Since the machine automates the transplanting of the hair follicles, there’s a lower transection rate than that of manual FUE procedures.  Neograft can also be used to camouflage scars from previous strip removals. The duration of the procedure is closer to that of strip harvesting than the time consuming manual FUE. There is also little chance of pain or damage to nerves or blood vessels.

    Quicker Recovery

Neograft doesn’t require the removal of strips of hair on the back of the head, which lessens the appearance of linear scarring.  Healing time is days instead of weeks.  The procedure is ideal for candidates that want to wear their hair short or live active lives.

Neograft is a precise procedure that complements the skill and artistry of your cosmetic surgeon.  It’s such an advanced technology that some cosmetic surgeons may not even be familiar with it.  Here at Dr. Turowski’s New Horizon Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we specialize in it. Give us a call today at (866) 759-3385 to schedule a consultation; a fuller head of hair can be days away.

Looking for Smoother Skin? Chemical Peel Options for Healthier Skin

    Last updated 6 months ago

If you desire younger, smoother skin, then you should consider having a chemical peel. Chemical peels work by using acids to remove the top layers of skin.  After this process, the skin is rejuvenated and appears smoother.  Chemical peels can give you cleaner pores, remove scars, and give you a more even skin tone. There are a variety of chemical peels that differ in intensity and skin penetration, so it is important to find the right one for you.

    Superficial Peels:

Superficial peels are minimally invasive and can be used on all skin types. These peels can be done in the office in about 15 minutes.  This safe procedure is ideal for people with mild skin discoloration, acne scars, or sun damage.   These procedures remove a micro-thin top layer of skin and unclog pores and even out wrinkles and skin tone.  Superficial peels heal very quickly, leaving the patient with virtually no recovery time.

    Medium Peels:

Medium peels penetrate deeper than the top layer of skin and cause a mild second-degree burn.  Most commonly, medium peels use Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) for patients who have more pronounced wrinkling, sun damage, or acne scarring.  They are ideal for smokers that want to rejuvenate their skin or patients with excessive sun or acne damage. Recovery time is typically a few days, but a multi-faceted treatment will help reduce redness.

    Deep Peels:

Deep peels are a more intensive alternative for extreme cases of skin damage.  They are not suited for patients with darker or more sensitive skin types, as they involve bleaching.  Recovery time from a deep peel can last weeks or months.

If you think a chemical peel may be right for you, then call Dr. Turowski of New Horizon Center for Cosmetic Surgery at (866) 759-3385 to schedule a consultation. We offer many different chemical peels, including the pigment peel plus and vitalize peel and the pumpkin peel treatment and clarifying mask treatment.
